ROAD DOOM is an arcade bullet-hell with a cheesy story. You play as Road Warrior, the great mighty hero of the western lands. One day horrible beings invades your home, poking around trying to scavenge what they may find interesting. Road Warrior looses his temper, firing off his ultra mega lightning weapon of doom on the filthy beings. You become exhausted, weak, helpless... until your good buddy "Boat" arrives to re-supply your energy storage level! Determined, you move forward to push back the evil once and for all. A great quest lies ahead of you Road Warrior. Your determination and skill will be put to the test, as you fight against great beings of doom with powerful tricks. Save the world, defeat the Four Horsemen, charge!
Game lasts for around 2-4 hours, or 45-60 mins if you beat it first try... however you need to be good as HECK in order to do that!!

Just tried out the game on normal difficulty and whilst I wasn't the best, I still had a fun time and I am sure that I will go back to it to see if I can get further.
To be frankly honest, I can't offer much advice as to me the game was enjoyable to play and whilst you did say that the story was cheesy, I found that it still enhanced the game nonetheless.
Overall, nice job, cant wait for the full game to come out!

Really a hilarious game to play. At the start, I merely though that a shoot 'em up with a "road warrior" theme is something different, but then I knew it really was something else when the floating ship showed up. The gameplay itself is great too, lots of different enemies. It's a bullet hell game, but the wide variety of difficulties should make this enjoyable for everyone, even I managed to hang on rather well on medium level.
I'd love to invite this game to our contest, the Game Development World Championship!

Nah, not much. I will tweak those "Doomorbs" a little but that's pretty much that.
Your video got me thinking about how I implemented the health system tho, you didn't seem too happy when it didn't fill when entering a new stage haha. :D I'll take a look into this!

I love the visuals. I agree that the intro was a bit too long.
Not bad at all! The pixel art is awesome, the color coding makes it generally pretty easy to tell what's going on and the writing and music are pretty great. The tutorial was a little too long and somewhat irreversible just diving into the game and there were some times where I felt like there was literally no way to avoid damage, but those were small issues overall.
Thanks a lot for this!! this was really fun to watch :) you got really unlucky with your run tho haha, you pretty much lost all your Doomorbs which left you with dealing very little damage. I might have to tweak the bullet RNG a little or find some sort of solution so bullets don't become unavoidable. i totally agree regarding the tutorial, people have been not too happy with that one. i do have some ideas on how to tweak it tho.
